The Beauty of Horror 2
Following up his #1 best-selling coloring book The Beauty of Horror, creator Alan Robert returns with volume two in the series – The Beauty of Horror 2: Ghouliana’s Creepatorium – Another GOREgeous Coloring Book. Ghouliana’s Creepatorium (Sept 19, IDW) continues the journey of everyone’s favorite undead girl, Ghouliana, as she mischievously attempts to trick budding colorists into unleashing her deadly spell. Ghouliana has secretly sprinkled her haunted ingredients throughout 80 pages of Robert’s original pen and ink illustrations. The Beauty of Horror 2 features a beautifully chilling red-foiled cover and high-quality paper that will ensure the pools of blood you color don’t leak through the pages.
“I was completely blown away by the overwhelming response to the first book,” Robert says, “the amazing color work fans have been posting online inspired me to get crackin’ on volume two right away! And this time, Ghouliana’s got even more tricks up her sleeve.” Regarding Beauty of Horror 1, Robert confides, “The coloring book craze took hold of my wife and daughter a few months ago and I wanted to get in on the fun, but as I flipped through the endless pages of nature patterns, it dawned on me that someone left out all of the damn corpses. As a proud member of the horror community, I took it upon myself to stand up for the rights of monster-lovers everywhere. Why should we be excluded from the coloring phenomenon?!”
Alan Robert is the award-winning author/artist of several IDW comic book series including Crawl to Me, Killogy, and Wire Hangers. Crawl to Me is currently being developed as a live-action feature film. A Brooklyn native, Alan’s journey as a comic book creator began at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he attended on a scholarship and studied cartooning under legendary Thor comic writer/artist Walt Simonson.
Over the last two decades, Robert’s hard rock band Life of Agony built a die-hard cult following, selling over one million albums worldwide. Life of Agony recently released their 5th studio album A Place Where There’s No More Pain through Napalm Records to critical acclaim. Rolling Stone hailed it as “One of the Most Anticipated Albums of the Year” and it debuted at #24 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart.
